Nancy has spent most of her adult life sharing her talent and motivating young people in the visual arts. Her education assignments were varied and challenging as she went from state to state as a following spouse. At each stage she looked for excellence in her students and not only brought success to many of them but was also honored for the work she did. Many of the schools in which Nancy taught have permanent ceramic installations that were put into place by student involvement. When in St. Joseph, Missouri, she was selected Nestle Corporation National Teacher of the Year.
Nancy has also been very careful to nourish her own work, and grow and develop as an artist. She has won numerous awards in Ohio and Missouri, and has been an exhibiting artist in many summer juried shows. In Michigan she pursued a master’s degree at
Eastern Michigan Univ. and became very active and competitive as a metalsmith.
When a move to California became real, Nancy finally gave up the classroom to return to the satisfaction of the palette. In Modesto she has discovered the life of a full-time artist. Her work is colorful and spontaneous and ranges in subject matter from seascapes, to landscapes, and the people and beauty of Ireland.
Nancy is married to a very supportive husband, has four grown children and four grands all of which give her much pleasure.
